Australia to Crack Down on Illegal Online Poker
Just one month after the U.S. Department of Justice and the FBI took drastic actions to crack down on online poker in the United States, poker players are being warned that Australia might be considering options to take similar actions.
No benefits for High Rollers at the Casino
The Tasmanian benefit system has decided to cross-reference the casino games players high roller list to the list of people receiving benefits to support low income. Over the past 4 years, the federal government crackdown scheme has helped identified over 500 individuals who were receiving benefits and appeared on the high roller list of casino players. While casino winnings do not count as income in Tasmania, the players were gambling such large amounts that the government suspected that they had undeclared assets.
