Play casino games in bed

A new law in Nevada might let you play casino games in bed! How wonderful would that be to be able to go back to your hotel room and carry on playing roulette and other casino games from the comfort of your bed! This might be a great way to get punters back to Las Vegas after it was revealed that spending at the casino is down from previous years.

Basically, the new Nevada bill would expand gambling to hotel rooms but how will this work? Will the croupier have to follow you back to your room to take bets and give you your casino chips?

No, the croupier will stay on the casino floor. Gamblers could take the games back to their hotel rooms according to the new legislation but they would only be able to gamble on casino-issued mobile devices. The devices could then be taken anywhere in a hotel-casino and enable gamblers to carry on playing casino games from their hotel room or from the restaurant. The thought of relaxing in your hotel room and playing casino games is quite exciting.

Existing legislation have always confined gambling to supervise public areas so this will be a new development which is backed by some members of the assembly but which also has opponents. Opponents to the change will argue that mobile gambling is the same as legalizing internet gambling. If you were to legalize gambling, users would be able to log on to online casinos from a laptop computer or a smartphones and play casino games wherever they are. That’s not exactly the case. The devices would only work on the grounds of the casino resort so they will be more restrictive than online casinos.

Various security measures would be in place to make sure that the gambling devices cannot be misused. For instance, players would have to enter a secret PIN number to access casino games and re-enter the code on a regular basis to make sure that gambling is controlled and stop underage gambling or general misuse.

The devices have also been described as a link between the traditional casino games on the casino floor and online casinos. But because they would only work within the actual casino resort, the use would be limited to short periods of time. The main casino floor would still be the main area of play for gamblers and the mobile devices would only be used for shorter period of times.

The truth is, in other countries where online casino games are available on the internet, casino owners have not felt the need to give their guest a mobile device to play in their hotel rooms. A better solution might be to reconsider the availability of online casino games in the United States.

Nevada approves 888 and Caesars link

The Nevada Gaming Commission regulator has approved the business relationship between Caesars Interactive Entertainment Incorporated and 888 Holdings. For the first time, a Las Vegas land based casino will be able to offer online poker to customers based outside of the United States. This was made possible by building a joint venture with 888. It also reveals that efforts to legalize online poker in the United States are gaining steam.

Gibraltar-based 888 is one of the world’s largest online gaming operators offering online betting, online poker, casino games and bingo to UK customers, where the brand is a household name and to customers globally. Caesars Interactive is the online subsidiary of Caesars Entertainment Corporation, the world’s largest land-based gaming company and owners of the world’s famous Caesars Casino in Las Vegas, and many other casinos and hotels.

The agreement signed by 888, through its Dragonfish subsidiary, and Caesars Interactive sets that 888 is to provide the website technology and services for the launch of the World Series of Poker and Caesars brands websites.

Although these online gaming sites are only available to players in the UK and not those in the United States, Las Vegas-based Caesars Entertainment submitted a request to the Nevada Gaming Commission and the Nevada State Gaming Control Board last year in order to obtain the necessary approvals. They have to respect the law in Nevada even when offering services abroad. This week marked the final approval for the business relationship between Caesars Interactive and 888. This is the first time that regulators have explicitly allowed a land-based casino operator from the United States to do online business with a foreign company offering online gambling. Online gambling is still illegal in the United State although a few states are currently reviewing their position in regards to online poker. New Jersey, California, Florida and Iowa have already made the first steps towards regulating online gambling.

Obviously, both 888 and Caesars Entertainment are very happy with the outcome and look forward to promoting their websites. The news was also welcomed by the stock market where 888, listed on the London stock exchange, jumps 8% after receiving the approval from Nevada regulators.

Analysts predict that the approval could lead to more claims being put through for clearance by the Nevada State Gaming Control Board. It is also bring water the mill of campaigners who want to see the regulation of online gambling in the United States, at least on a state-by-state basis. US based gamblers might soon be able to start playing online again!
